LIFE WITH PASSION

Frosty Saturday night. In the dark streets, crowds of young people going for, so called: ” pre-drinks”. And we... ”mysterious people”: me and miss E(…). Like usual, we attract eyes of other pedestrians. "Great hat" - I hear from a group of unknown people. I feel butterflies in my stomach, I'm excited about tonight, which is going to begin soon!! And all is about exhibition of a great young artist, who doesn’t only paint, but also runs on fabulous hair salon, where like he says: “We treat our customers like family members” ... And he has also cool tattoos! Nevertheless, my visit was not because of my admiration of the tattoos, but because of the fascination of this man, who is my inspiration.

Dressed in fur, like a delegation from Russian Vogue, we were going to the living room. For some guests we were the main subject of discussion. Rather, our furs – were they real, or fake? Okay, Joanna Krupa can sleep quietly. Additionally attendance surprised me once again, as on the exhibition last year, where I went with Tamara (which you can see here). After hanging up our heavy furs to the changing room we started our careful observation of the presented canvases on the walls.

As always, when I see Lucas’ images the great curiosity appears. Each painting recalls a completely different emotion. It's wonderful to be able to stand in front of each canvas and wonder, what author wanted to tell you in this piece of art... It’s obvious, that everyone will interpret the work in their own way - only the title can resolve our doubts. All Lucas’ images are very dynamic, expressive, made in watercolor painting technique.

My attention was paid to the biggest painting - "Eat Me", which (while looking at guests face expressions) caused the greatest emotions! The author runs away from the image’s interpretation - maybe the image is eloquent enough? I think so! However, some of the guests, with whom I had the opportunity to talk, they interpreted the image in many ways. I really like the fact that every interpretation is different and sometimes surprising.

UNSTABLE TWO". Excellent graphic, great range of colors and lines crossing the visible image. The rapid character of lines reminds me about the incorrect EEG’s report. My interpretation of this canvas is based mainly on a question related to the pass, and the use of warm and cool colors reminds me of the four seasons. After winter comes spring, after sadness - happiness!

Łukasz Stokowski deserves for applause once again! The best thing is that, in spite of his daily duties he still has the time to develop his passion - painting! It might appear surprising, that man who has not finished the Academy of Fine Arts is awarded by the newspaper "Rzeczpospolista" as the hope of Polish painting. I’ve asked him if the lack of artistic studies did not interfere with his development:
"As a self-lerner, it is very hard to break into the world of art. All people. who care about ‘to be or not to be’, proceed from the assumption that a person without artistic degree should not paint, and that his/her paintings should not meet with approval!
I am surprised, since as a self-educated painter, I am more or less successful. Especially, that the artistic market full of self-taught artists, such as graphic artists, musicians. I truly wonder why. As a hairdresser, I cannot complain about the lack of work - this job makes me satisfied, but painting is my real passion. Luckily, I am not forced to choose between paint or dinner (as majority of artists do). I have freedom and I do not have to paint in order to survive. It comes out of me, since I paint, when I want to and when I feels to be in the right mood."

Łukasz, as a big fan of painters such as Hałas, Dwurnik or Richter is very authentic in his paintings. Through his canvases he wants to show emotions, own live experience; he wants to show himself, his soul! The same comes in the fashion and styling – thing, which I repeat to you over and over again. Atmosphere accompanying the exhibition was just ... MAGICAL. See below and have fun my dears !

* * * * * * * * * *

Mroźny, sobotni wieczór. Na ulicach widoczne tłumy młodych ludzi, którzy zaliczają before’y przed weekendowym szaleństwem. A my, czyli ja i Pani E., jak zwykle razem przyciągamy wzrok innych przechodniów.
Ubrani w futra niczym delegacja z rosyjskiego Vogue’a, wchodzimy do salonu.

Każdy obraz wywołał we mnie zupełnie inne emocje.

„UNSTABLE TWO”. Doskonały graficznie, świetna paleta kolorów i te widoczne linie przecinające obraz. Sens obrazu w mojej interpretacji, to głównie kwestia związana z przemijaniem, a użycie ciepłych i zimnych barw kojarzą mi się z 4 porami roku.

MAGICZNA. Zobaczcie sami :)
